Why US? Why this film?

Hello! My name is Alexander Scott, and I’m a film student and passionate filmmaker. At one of the lowest points in my life, it was a movie that gave me the hope and inspiration to keep moving forward - and to chase the dream of becoming a filmmaker myself. Ever since, film has been at the very center of my life.

I love stories that grab you and refuse to let go. I eat, sleep, and breathe a good thriller, and I’m especially drawn to the kind of films that keep you guessing until the very end. As a filmmaker, I want to help create the next generation of those stories while paying homage to the suspenseful, unsettling, downright scary films that paved the way.

This year, I’m directing my junior thesis film at LMU, and I need your help to bring it to life!

The project is a compact, twist-driven psychological thriller with an estimated runtime of six minutes. At its heart, the film explores self-doubt, determination, trusting your instincts, and, naturally, a little murder.

It’s a story about what happens when everyone around you tells you that you’re wrong, but something deep down keeps telling you that something isn’t right. Sometimes you have to trust your gut - even when the whole world seems to disagree.

Because if you don’t, you might just end up in a little more trouble than you bargained for.
